Our products are built to withstand the rigors of a life outside and we stand behind the quality of every product we make. If you need to repair a Therm-a-Rest product, we will do everything we can to repair or warranty it as quickly as possible.

What is Covered

Therm-a-Rest takes pride in offering the highest-quality camp products and we stand behind every piece of gear that we make. We offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all products, except electronic devices, which have a 2-year Limited Warranty. Warranty coverage is extended only to original purchasers and purchases from authorized dealers.

Should your Therm-a-Rest product be found defective under this warranty, Cascade Designs, at its discretion, will repair or replace it. Mattresses older than two years from the date of manufacture may be replaced with a cosmetically irregular mattress.

Shipping charges to an Authorized Repair Center for a damaged product are not covered and are the responsibility of the customer. Return shipping charges for the repaired product will be covered.

What is Not Covered

Normal wear, puncture, abrasion, misuse, alteration, abuse or taking apart of the product is not covered. If your Therm-a-Rest product has repairable damage or wear not covered by your warranty, Therm-a-Rest will complete the repairs for a reasonable fee.

Cascade Designs will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow this exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply.

Better Sleep Guarantee

Following your purchase of a Platypus product from an authorized Platypus retailer, original product parts we determine are defective in materials or workmanship (so long as the defect was not caused by damage while in your possession, or unreasonable use, or failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance), we will repair or replace at our expense. In instances where your warranty-eligible Platypus product requires service, but we no longer manufacture the product, or feel that it cannot be repaired, we may offer to replace your product with one of comparable value and function.

It’s important to us that we keep gear out of the landfill and living its best life with you out on the trail. We've got an incredible team that will always try and repair your gear first.

With many items, we can send you a replacement part and guide you through doing the repair at home, but in some cases, you'll have to send your gear in to us. We've got Repair teams in Reno, NV and Kamloops, BC that can help keep your gear lasting for years and years to come. After contacting us, our team will review your case and follow up by email with the next steps.

Depending on the issue you’re having with your product, we may request you send your product into our Repair Shop for assessment and subsequent repair or replacement. We've got Repair teams in Reno, NV and Kamloops, BC that can help keep your gear lasting for years and years to come. For those outside the U.S. and Canada, to obtain service under this warranty please reach out to one of our international distributors or dealers, whose contact information can be found here.

What services does the Repair Shop provide?

What can be repaired

MATTRESSES

Our repair technicians can find and repair punctures, replace valves and reseal the seams on your mattress.

SLEEPING BAGS, QUILTS AND BLANKETS

We are able to mend small holes in the fabric of your insulation and repair or replace zipper sliders.

TENTS

The repair team can mend tears in the fabric or mesh of your Therm-a-Rest tent and repair bent or broken tent pole segments.

COTS

Our repair technicians can repair pole segments and replace cot feet.

CHAIRS

We are able to replace the chair stays or poles on all of our collapsible camp chairs.


Cleaning

Your gear must be cleaned before it is sent to our repair technicians. A dirty mattress may be returned to the sender before repairs can be made.


Cost

Please note, we will require your approval and payment prior to processing any repair services that incur a fee.

MATTRESSES

We charge $20 USD to patch up to 10 punctures on your mattress.

SLEEPING BAGS, QUILTS AND BLANKETS

Zipper sliders are normally replaced at no charge. Other damage may be repaired for a reasonable fee. Please contact our Customer Service team for an estimate.

TENTS

Broken tent poles (and fabric damaged by broken poles) are normally repaired at no charge. Other damage to fabric may be repaired for a reasonable fee. Please contact our Customer Service team for an estimate.


How much do repairs cost?

Please see our list of services in the answer above for estimated pricing. Some pricing cannot be determined until the work is evaluated. In the case your repair service incurs a fee, we will reach out to you for approval before completing any work.


How long does a repair usually take?

Allow 4 to 6 weeks for your gear to be processed, repaired and returned. We recommend using a carrier that offers tracking and insurance such as UPS or Fed Ex. If you have any questions about the status of your repair/return, please contact us with your Return Authorization Number for easy tracking.


What if my gear can’t be repaired?

If we have inspected your gear and found that the damage is beyond repair, we’ll send it back to you with a discount code for a purchase from our website.

Warranty Exclusions & Limitations

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. THERM-A-REST’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO INCIDENTAL DAMAGES NOT TO EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT. THERM-A-REST DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. THIS EXCLUSION AND LIMITATION APPLIES TO ALL LEGAL THEORIES UNDER WHICH DAMAGES MAY BE SOUGHT, AND WILL APPLY EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. EXCLUDING THE LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDED ABOVE, THERM-A-REST AND ITS AFFILIATES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED; AND NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND ANY MANUFACTURER SUPPLIED DESCRIPTION ACCOMPANYING THE PRODUCT. THE REMEDIES ABOVE ARE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES AGAINST THERM-A-REST AND ITS AFFILIATES, REGARDLESS OF LEGAL THEORY. SHOULD A COURT FIND THIS LIMITED WARRANTY BREACHED, THERM-A-REST’S ONLY OBLIGATION WILL BE, AT ITS OPTION, TO EITHER REPAIR OR REPLACE PRODUCT. SHOULD A COURT FIND THIS LIMITED WARRANTY TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, THERM-A-REST WILL REFUND TO YOU THE PRODUCT’S ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE.
