Before Tomasz discovered his passion for the mountains, he was taking photographs. Being based in Iceland it was only a matter of time before he turned his lens to his homeland’s iconic landscape. He found that the mountains not only look good in photos, but they feel good to stand atop of. These days you can catch him guiding groups to the top of Hvannadalshnukur each spring, Iceland’s highest peak. Can’t make it? Don’t worry, if you happen to be the Karkoram Range in Pakistan in the future, you may run into Tomasz there as he checks off a bucket list destination.
What is your most embarrassing backcountry moment?
That’s an easy one. I once had to poo while guiding a large group of women on a glacier hike. That was fun for all involved.
